Our primary goal this year is to raise $20,000 for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Societyby fall of 2011. We are doing this by a series of Ben Franklin (or other of our programs) sponsored by area businesses at $2,500 each (to include a School Presentation and an evening Public Performance at the same schools). Contact us to join in the sponsorship.
and continue to support other worthy groups as well. We also are sending contributions to:
- KIVA (Microfinance and economic development for the poor worldwide)
- Free Rice (on-line vocabulary builder/provider of food to the hungry)
- Oregon Shakespearean Festival Educational Outreach Programs (a private effort*)
- University of Washington School of Drama (a private effort*)
- Spark of Light Foundation (supporting education and care for the poor in southern Asia)
- PLAN USA (supporting education and social development in Bein, Africa and other countries)
- Specific Use Funds for different branches of The Society for Creative Anachronism (Historical research/education/re-creation)
* These efforts are not endorsed nor officially sanctioned by the target agency, but are private efforts to support worthwhile institutions.
