About the event

Chautauqua Masterclass with GregRobin Smith

Chautauqua is an unscripted first-person presentation of a character of historical note, with impromptu questions from the audience concerning the character's time, or the character's reaction to modern events. It presents a unique blend of character development, stage presence, and improvisation.

Mr Smith has presented in the Chautauqua-style as Benjamin Franklin since 2001. He has taught Shakespeare and Colonial History (with an emphasis on Benjamin Franklin) for Western Washington University, and Shakespearean Theatre Practice for Seattle Central College and The University of Alaska, Fairbanks.

On Friday, July 11, Mr. Smith will be performing BENJAMIN FRANKLIN - LIVE! at Old Stone House. Tickets to this masterclass include entry to that performance.
